• jackS 22:03, 2 Mar 2005 (PST) Is there any way we can cut off the "Ships:" Prefix? It will make searching annoying if the list is convinced that all items start with S.
  • pontiac 14:44, 3 Mar 2005 (PST) Yes, but we would need to edit (or clone) the CategoryPage.php file to display (and SORT) is as something like this (the term in the brackets is optional, and the : on the 'end' should be always there IMO)

Ok, we actually have not more that one namespace so it would look like this most of the time:

The biggest problem will be code-side of this though, i'm not really familiar with php :?

• jackS 15:12, 3 Mar 2005 (PST) Looks good to me :) One final thought - do we want to split Vessels (Ship:) and Installations (Installation:) into their own categories, or (simpler though vaguely a misnomer) put everything in Ship: ?

I wouldn't mind to put everything into Ship (despite the misnomer), but in retrospective a "Unit:" namespace would have been better (what do you think?), but i think it's to much work to change that now :?

But if we make a second Namespace "Installation:" we should rename the "Category:Ships:Use:xxx" categories (and similar) into something like "Category:Usedby:Aera" or even just use the category "Category:Species:Aera"/"Category:Faction:xxx" to ignore the type of unit.

• jackS 21:55, 3 Mar 2005 (PST) So, I've decided to go with a Vessels: Installations: namespace split, and I've taken your suggestion for simplifying the category names for used by - that way we can put tech and upgrades and other things into the used by and produced by categories.
