=Generalità=

Questa pagina dovrebbe dimostrarsi utile come guida per chiunque intenda contribuire a questa Wiki.

Poichè come logico la prima fonte di informazioni per la Wiki di Vega Strike è... Vega Strike stesso, si consiglia di scaricarsi il gioco e giocarci per qualche tempo, per familiarizzarsi e capire di cosa si sta scrivendo qui. In alternativa si possono tradurre in italiano le pagine inglesi, che sono senz'altro, al momento, le più complete. Ma se giocate un pò a Vega Strike è comunque meglio.

==L'attività di editing==

Potete trovare una guida sul come editare una weiki qui: [[WikiPedia:How to edit a page]].

Per favore fate le vostre prove di edit e modifica di un articolo nella [[SandBox]], prima di modificare una pagina 'vera'. Tutte le modifiche nelle sandbox sono prive di conseguenze e non sporcano lo spazio delle pagine, così nessuno se la prenderà se fate casino lì dentro: sono fatte apposta.

Visitate il [[VsWiki:WikiBar|WikiBar]] e tenete lì tutte le discussioni che volete su come migliorare questa wiki, o come e dove aggiungere parti ad essa.

Controllate anche, ogni tanto, le [[VsWiki:Requested_Articles|Richieste di articoli]] per sapere quali sono le nuove pagine più urgenti da creare.

Esiste anche l'elenco delle [[Category:Pages_needing_attention|Pagine da aiutare]] che mostra le pagine che avrebbero un gran bisogno di essere riscritte, ampliate, corrette o in generale riviste.

==Il nome Vega Strike==

JackS ha stabilito che il nome corretto per il nostro progetto è "Vega Strike". Perciò, per favore, riferitevi al gioco soltanto con questo nome (due parole separate, entrambe con le iniziali maiuscole), a meno che non sia necessario scriverlo senza spazi (come nelle URL o nei nomi di file).

==Intestazione e stile dei titoli==
===Generalità===

Se aggiungete intestazioni a una pagina o create nuove pagine, evitate le frasi molto lunghe.

Fino a quattro parole sono considerate una intestazione/titolo accettabile, che può sintetizzare bene il contenuto della pagina. Se quattro parole non vi bastano per riassumere tutto, vuol dire che potreste comunque dover dividere il contenuto della pagina ;)

Titoli e intestazioni dovrebbero essere formulati come una frase grammaticalmente corretta: per esempio le lettere maiuscole vanno sulla prima parola del titolo, sul primo nome e per le sigle e le abbreviazioni.

===Nomi delle voci dei database===

* '''Categorie''' (quelle che iniziano con [Category:xxx]) dovrebbero essere sempre al plurale (come in "Aggiornamenti", "Armi", "Merci" etc...). e.g [Category:Upgrades:Repair Systems].
* '''Sommari''' (per esempio le pagine [[Armi]] o pagine di 'sotto'-sommario come [[Aggiornamenti:Postbruciatori]]) dovrebbero essere messi anche loro al plurale. Per le pagine di 'sotto'-sommario ''tutti'' i termini sono plurali.
* '''Single entries''' (like the 'wrong' <code>[Upgrades:mult_afterburner01]</code>) should use '''singular''' e.g [[Upgrade:Multiplier afterburner (Level 1)]]
* '''Speaking/meaningful names''' Do not use 'mult_afterburner01', but instead formulate a ''full'' description as a name. For auto-linking we can easily create redirects. e.g [Upgrade:mult_afterburner01] redirects to ['''Upgrade:Multiplier afterburner (Level 1)''']

* Finally a tip if you are moving/renaming pages. You can use the [Move] button on the top to move and redirect pages to new locations. Even the talk pages are moved and redirected. ==Links (Crosslinks)==

Please do add crosslinks into the page you are creating/editing, but don't push it.

For example there is no need to re-link a word again and again. In most cases one single link on the first occurence of the word/term is enough. Of course if there is a long paragraph then a re-link is the better way to go.

===Thumbnails===
Thumbnails are a special case. If you want to use one of the thumbnails automatically created by the gallery, then observe the following procedure:

# Locate the thumbnail that you want to use.
# Copy '''image''' location, ''not'' the link location (In Internet Explorer, right click on the image thumbnail and go to "Properties" and copy the image address from there).
# Paste the image location into the Wiki and add "'''&ext=.png'''" to the end. This will allow MediaWiki to detect that it is a PNG image.
