Role Summary: | Confederation Battle Cruiser (projectile weapons orientation) |
Role Details: | Commissioned by the Confederation Fleet, the Mechanist shipyards have produced an imposing, if one dimensional, class of vessels. The chisel shape allows all of the 48 main gun emplacements on the vessel to be brought to bear on any target sufficiently distant and towards the fore of the ship. While the aft ring of 12 turrets has wide arc motion, multiple target acquisition is primarily practical at range, with the arc motion of most other turret emplacements somewhat limited, and the vessel must be turned in its entirety for fully effective fire. As its intended use is in fleet level engagements, this was not considered a particularly dire drawback. Defensive emplacements are almost exclusively of the anti-missile variety. Disposing of small craft is left as an exercise for escort vessels. |
Combat Behavior: | Standoff engagement from the center of a task force. Acts as anti-capital artillery. |
