Role Summary: | Cruiser (Beam/Torpedo mix) |
Role Details: | Clydesdales are more than suited to dealing with domestic enemies, if falling somewhat short in direct comparisons with foreign vessels of similar class. However, deployed in groups, or as backup to the more offensively capable Battle Cruiser Mk. 32, the Clydesdale is a viable workhorse. |
Combat Behavior: | After expending forward torpedo tubes, the Clydesdale will close to beam range and engage directly. Its missile armament is not incredible imposing, and neither does it possess the most advanced or powerful beam emplacements. However, the Clydesdale class does benefit from the ability of the Merchant Guild's copious shipyards to attempt to compensate for quality with quantity. The Clydesdale's lack of extremely heavy missiles or beam emplacements makes it better suited to engaging a sequence of smaller targets than attempting to duel other cruisers. |
Comments: | This is the only true warship produced by the Merchant Guild's shipyards.
