Role Summary: | Fleet Carrier |
Role Details: | Not ostentatiously designed - elegant, but functional in impementation - development of these vessels began as soon as the Aera encountered evidence of technologically advanced extant civilizations, and the age of the design is often apparent.
|
Combat Behavior: | Much more akin to the mobile base concept than the more prevalent escort carriers and flight tenders in use by most other groups, this behemoth, despite its size, avoids direct engagement, preferring to keep maximum distance between itself and enemy forces. The vessel mounts a large number of weapon emplacements, but none particularly large, and the majority of mounts are defensively oriented. As the offensive value of this craft is mostly a function of the craft ferried and cared for, the offensive weaponry of the vessels has not been a priority for overhaul. |
