After the end of the war, Moonbase Tycho lost about 7% of its staff and was practically empty when Jason Bondarevsky left it for the Landreich. (False Colors, 26)

ISN is a news network that the Confederation government can control. In fact, the Confederation can exercise control over all major news outlets. (False Colors, 54)

In the media, the Treaty of Torgo, the Kilrathi surrender to the Confederation, is referred to as the Treaty of Ko-bar Yagar so as not to offend the Kilrathi. The Torgo system was taken by the Kilrathi Empire near the end of the war, and even though it had only recently been renamed Ko-bar Yagar, because it continued to be in Kilrathi paws, the Confederation media used their name.

The Confederation had a number of war-winning projects active at the end of the war (projects of the scale of Behemoth and the Temblor bomb). These projects continue, albeit on the back-burner.

The motto of Confederation's Special Operations division is "Any Path to Victory." (False Colors, 47).

The president and government has staked everything on the Treaty. If people learned that it wasn't being honored, the government would be finished and the president impeached. (False Colors, 51) As such, the Confederation is unwilling to take action against renegade Kilrathi. (False Colors, 52) Would the Confederation be willing to attack the Landreich to keep it from fighting the Kilrathi? Maybe. (False Colors, 64)

Elements in the Confederation want the Landreich to fall. Of course, this shouldn't be surprising.

There is a Confederation Peace Commission. There is also a Confederation Security Bureau (elite espionage and intelligence).

"You can strip it down to scrap and sell it to the Firekkans as trade trinkets" (FC 152). Is this sort of attitude common among humans?
