Learning from experiences in the Aeran-Rlaan conflict, the Aera have updated their dropships to improve combat effectiveness. While nearly helpless out of atmosphere, the dropships make the most of a limited time to landing by relying on ammunition limited, but powerful, weapons designed to neutralize ground defenses, thereby increasing the chances of survival until landing. Once landed, the dropships are capable of providing limited support fire, but are not intended for significant dirtside operations, having already fulfilled their only meaningful purpose - landing military forces onto a hostile planet.
