Saahasayaay

Fast, beautiful, and deadly, while they serve the Rlaan, they do so because of the technological and economic benefits gained from the association rather than out of gratitude. Whereas the Rlaan succeeded in making both the Lmpl and Nuhln useful and docile, the Saahasayaay are indeed useful, but far from docile.

The most successful of the Rlaan uplifts, the Saahasayaay are incredibly dextrous and possessed of a carnivore's keen hunting sense. The Rlaan have taken to using Saahasayaay troops to reinforce their border with the Aera. The Rlaan are, however, somewhat hesitant to let this concentration of troops return home.

Physical characteristics

At adulthood Saahasayaay are a 12' long, 8-legged centipedal predator species, with the ability to rise up onto 6 legs using the first two forelimbs for any of three functions: legs, manipulator arms with crude but effective opposable digits, or weapons utalizing the saber-like outer side-ridged edges or the spiked inner side for holding onto prey. Large cutting incisors make up most of the mouth while glossy dark multi-faceted eyes ride behind and slightly above. Subdued dark multi-colored chitin armored exoskeleton encloses the main body which has a multi-hued glossiness effect refracting light. Fast, beautiful and deadly hunters.

Some wonder what possessed the Rlaan in deciding to uplift this species.

Religion

The dominant belief structure of the Saahasayaay revolves around each of them being an intruments of the great death god who sits in judgment over the universe. The Saahasayaay belive themselves to be the chosen people who alone are privy to the sentences being passed down upon the mortals of this realm. Saahasayaay prophet halls are built to express the joy of the hunt, the glory of the kill, and subserviance to the great death god. The prophet halls are built in keeping with the 3-dimensional nature of Saahasayaay travel, with perches on many levels, and rank denoted by attainment of a higher perch.

Number scheme

The Saahasayaay used to use a unary base 8 system, but have been converted to use of the Rlaan base 256 system.
