Like the Nuhln, the Lmpl were a sub-sentient species which the Rlaan selected as biological projects in adapting a lifeform to an envioronment inhospitable to Rlaan workers. The resulting Lmpl are viewed with admiration by the Rlaan while the Lmpl themselves are able to hold respectable positions within the society, short of positions among the Grand Assembly, due to their new environmental talents.
