Interstellar Socialist Organization or ISO for short.
When Karl Marx created socialism back in the 19th century, the idea of space traveling wasn't reality. But his ideas were never forgotten. The Interstellar Socialist Organization is the son of the International Communist Organization. The ISO is a organization created to make revolutions across the galaxy, but after the Confederation forbidden its exitence the ISO changed its face to an illegal and separatist scum.
FIXME Check if the above content is in sync with the one already written by JackS and the general background. (Additional it sounds a bit too negative about the ISO, since there are alot other factions (including the confed) that are eqally 'evil' ;) )
